I recently came across this interview with the photographer, Nicholas Hlobeczy, who was new to me. Here is one of his images, called 'Ripple Stone':The interview caught my eye from its first line - a quote from Robert Henri: "The object behind every true work of art is the attainment of a state of being."
Henri's statement really spoke to me because it articulates the essence of my own art and photography, which is all about creating an experience in the viewer ... giving them the sense of mystery and beauty I see in the world around me.
My passion is in catalyzing the recognition that we are all one - one body, one spirit. I want my work to foster a sense of communion with the universe, and all things within it, to give each of us a sense that we belong here and are part of one another.
